Reports, Bookkeeping, W-2's, 1099's, Moving, Poster Making & More...

This has been a busy week... Mon. thru Fri. it was the week from bookkeeping HELL.. and next week will be more HELL, I'm afraid. Tons of bookkeeping to do for two businesses... and the Annual Parish Meeting at Church this Sunday added to it made my work week add up to about 65 hours.... ugghhh!!

Then today we headed down to Chicago area to move my daughter's apartment stuff back home... a large trailer, my van full and Kasey's jeep filled, we made it home. Well, actually, John and my BIL, Mark made it home a few hours before Kasey and I did. We stayed and cleaned up the apartment after everything was out.

I wish we had those furniture movers that the Obama's had, they moved all their stuff into the White House in just hours, and it was all nice and organized for them... the stuff we moved home here from Kasey's is in the living room, dining room, hallway, front porch, and a ton more still out in the huge trailer to be moved in and up to the attic tomorrow afternoon.

So, Kasey is officially home ... it's kind of a bittersweet thing.. having to move home because of the job layoff, yet it's the start of her new venture in trying to start up her own business too ... so, we are thanking God for new starts, new adventures, and it's nice to have Kasey home too... hopefully even months from now, Kasey will think it's nice to be home too..*L*

But, our work day wasn't over ...As soon as we arrived home and unloaded the van and the jeep, Kasey got busy burning some CD's of photos she had taken to give away as a promotional thing for Kasey K Photo from a kids Hockey League game she and John had attended on Thursday night (our grandson, Jake plays on that league). They were going to be handed out to parents by our older son, John, tomorrow. I made up posters advertising Kasey K Photo that John was going to post at the Hockey Rink too. So, now we're kind of crashing and glad for a rest......

Tomorrow's another day.... wish it wasn't going to be such a busy one however...

Moose Feast & Fest 2009

In the movie "Forest Gump", there is a scene between Forest and his army buddy, Bubba. Bubba: Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

Well...this afternoon, my husband and his moose hunting buddies are providing for about 30 of their friends, a FEST of a FEAST of moose, prepared in a multifarious multitude of ways! There will be moose puffs (like ham puffs), taco moose salad, moose lasagna, BBQ moose, moose balls (actually meat balls, not really, umm,..well, you know)..*L*, moose roast, moose steaks, moose burgers, stir fry moose, moose stew, moose and taters, and more!
I'm making the taco moose salad, hubby has been at Randy's the last few days making all sorts of other yummy things for the Feast Fest... my mom made the moose balls, and other hunting buds are probably bringing more delicious recipes - more that you can do to a moose than you can shake a stick at.. *L*. (what the heck kind of metaphor is THAT?)..*L*

Anyway... I'm also bring a dessert, but it doesn't involve moose.. more like mousse..*L*
Maybe I'll bring my camera and take some pictures of this fest and the friends who enjoyed it...
More to come....
EDITED POST - ADDED PHOTOS
Yummmmm... too much good stuff!!

A fun time, with fun friends!!

The Big Chill... and I don't mean the movie by the same name...

Record setting below zero temps are here... It's suppose to be extremely frigid, dangerously so, tonite, tomorrow and Friday morning. (windchills of -35 to -40 F possible!) They have already called off school for Thursday in areas all over SE Wisconsin. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Not a good time to have a frozen sewer pipe either... which is what we MAY have, either that or some roots need to be routed out... ugghh.

We also received a record setting heat/gas bill in the mail today...Thank you WE Energies... $388 for ONE month...and this one doesn't even reflect this record setting cold spell... eek!!

Need a photographer? I know a TERRIFIC ONE!!

Our daughter, Kasey, since being laid off from her photography job at the end of the year, has been getting things together to venture out on her own, doing freelance work on her own, as well as freelance for others too. Here's one of her flyers, her website will soon be up and available too!

Please check it out, and pass on her name to others... she really is a very talented photographer... and I'm not just saying that cuz I'm her mom, I'm also a satisfied customer! *S*

Busy Weekend - Blessed Events

We had a nice family weekend... beginning on Friday morning with a belated Christmas Program at our grandson, Josh's preschool. The original date of the program had to be delayed due to snow storms, and on Friday it was almost delayed again, we had another foot of snow, with much of it coming that morning. But, the show must go on, and so it did... a cute one too!
I think our grandson is gonna be a heart breaker... he already has a girlfriend in preschool! Cute couple, but will it last? *L*

On Saturday we traveled upnorth to our son Kaine's apartment in Elkhart Lake, then went to Manitowoc on Sunday for our granddaughter Jorden's baptism. It was a wonderful worship service at St. James, with Bishop Russ Jacobus as the celebrant, and who performed the baptism.

We welcome Jorden into the household of God!! After the service was a great brunch held at the Church too... then back to Kaine's apartment to show the relatives his place before heading home. Thank you Lord for the many blessings you give us!

The Cutest Granddaughter in the World....

We had Jorden and Kaine home for a visit on Mon. and Tues., and of course how can I NOT take photos when Jorden's here... *S*

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It's been a busy few weeks...and the next few will be too for me, filled with bookkeeping things mostly, W-2's, 1099's, 4th Qtr reports, Year End Reports for Annual Parish Meeting in 3 weeks...getting tax stuff organized, and moving our daughter from IL back to home here (where oh where are we going to put an apartment full of her stuff here??) .... looks like assemblages and art may have to take a back burner... but that still doesn't stop me from visiting the Good Will stores to find cool bargains.... I think I need help for that addiction.. eek!!
