Delavan's New Fire Station Dedication

This afternoon John and I attended the dedication of the new Neill Flood Fire Station. What a wonderful new building!! All those involved in making this come about should be praised - it's a wonderful, modern, state of the art building and equipment to house the City of Delavan Fire Dept.!

Before John had his accident and broke his back, he had been on the Fire Dept... for over 36 years. His name, along with many others who have served over the years is on the Roll Call in one of the hallways there.

Mayor Mel, Chief Neill and a few others had thanks for all involved in it's completion. The DDHS band played some songs while the flags were raised and the building was dedicated. Pastor Mike Ida said a prayer, one of the girls from DDHS sang the national anthem (did a GREAT job too!)... and then the tours and hotdog lunch for all.
Here are some photos from the dedication today ....

There are many great meeting rooms, and offices, training places, equipment rooms and more! Some area businesses donated items too... Slumberland Furniture donated some comfy red recliners to the "day room", along with side tables and lamps and more.

There were photos in the hallways of some of the fires over the years that the Department had fought. One of them featured, in an enlarged wall hanging was of the St. Andrew's Steeple Fire in 2006. A photo I had taken ... it was cool to see it be a part of the new station too!

Wonderful station, dedication and well deserved honor for Chief Flood too!!
